Business Boost - Queensland State Government grant
The Business Boost Grants Program, for up to $15,000in funding, is being offered under a changed process this year. The Department of Employment, Small Business and Training has ditched its virtual queue system (from the Business Basics grant), and is using instead a ballot system.
Eligible organisations must have revenue(turnover) between $300,000 and $600,000 in the 2021/2022 financial year, and have a public website.
Step 1 Use the online tool to check your eligibility.
Step 2 Familiarise yourself with ALL the grant documents.
Step 3 Register interest with DESBT by 19th August.
Step 4 Prepare relevant quote(s) for the full application.
FUNDING
- Funding amount: Between $7,500 and $15,000 (excl GST)
- Applicant contribution: at least 30% of the total project cost
- Funding payments will not be made until the project and acquittal reporting is complete.
TIMELINES
- Registration of interest: Opens 12 Aug 2022. Closes 19 Aug 2022 (11:59pm)
- Eligible businesses selected by ballot. Announced within 5 business days.
- Full application: Opens 29 Aug 2022. Closes 12 Sep 2022 (11:59pm)
- Projects length: 6-12mths, starting within one month of funding agreement.
OBJECTIVES
The expected outcomes of the program are to:
- boost turnover, profit, and employment;
- increase business confidence and skills; and
- improve business resilience and survivability.
ORGANISATION ELIGIBILITY
This is only for businesses that have:
- Less than 20 employees (headcount)
- Active ABN, GST registered, QLD headquarters
- FY21-22 turnover between $300,000 and $600,000.
- A publicly reachable web presence (eg. website, socials)
- Owners/Directors that are not insolvent or undischarged bankrupt
- Not have received Business Boost grant funding under Round 1
PROJECT ELIGIBILITY
Project must fall under one of the following priorities:
- Future planning
- Strategic business planning for innovation or growth
- Implementing a governance board to guide strategic planning
- Exporting opportunities and requirements
- Compliance with industry regulations and standards
- Specialised and automated software
- Design and implementation of management systems
- Bespoke/Complex website or application design and build
- Staff management, development and planning
- Human Resource Management skills building
- Professional Development and Training
- Digital Workplace plans and systems for a remote workforce
